Celebrate our freedom and heritage in Pennsylvania. Past and present will come alive as students see some of Pennsylvania’s numerous historic sites. In Gettysburg, see the battlefields, towns and points of interest where our historically important, yet devastating fight for equality and freedom took place.

Visit Lancaster county, where you will mingle with the gentle, friendly Amish people and learn about their very special way of life. In Philadelphia, celebrate our freedom and heritage. Past and present will come alive as students spend time visiting Philadelphia’s numerous historic sites, exquisite architecture and impressive waterfront.

 

Lodging: Most of our Philadelphia hotels are conveniently located a short walk from the historic area. Pennsylvania Dutch and Gettysburg hotels are located a short bus ride from all of the attractions that your group will want to see in this fascinating areas.




Sample Itinerary

All Itineraries are Custom Designed

DAY I

  • Bus arrives at your school.
  • Depart for Gettysburg. Bring a morning snack and box lunch from home.
  • Approximate time of arrival in Gettysburg. Bus to the Gettysburg National Military Park.
  • See the Electric Map presentation and the Cyclorama.
  • Bus to your hotel. Check in and refresh before the evening activity.
  • Board your bus for an Historic Gettysburg Tavern. Enjoy dinner followed by an unforgettable visit with James A. Getty as Abraham Lincoln in his performance of “Mr. Lincoln Returns to Gettysburg”.
  • Following performance, bus to your hotel.
  • Hotel Security.

DAY II

  • Breakfast at your hotel. Pack your bus and check out.
  • Board your bus for Gettysburg National Military Park.
  • Guided bus tour of the Gettysburg Battlefields.
  • Bus to the Amish Country. Meet your guide. Pick up lunch at the Kitchen Kettle - own expense.
  • Begin your tour of the Amish Country. Bus to an Amish Farmhouse for a tour and an explanation of a the Amish culture, clothing and worship. Continue on to an Amish home. Visit the barn and quilt shop. Visit an Amish market - schedule permitting.
  • Amish Wedding Dinner at an Amish family farm. Your guide will leave you here.
  • Evening of Miniature Golf in a beautifully landscaped woodland setting.
  • Bus to your hotel. Check in.
  • Hotel security.

DAY III

  • Breakfast at your hotel. Pack your bus and check out.
  • Bus to Philadelphia.
  • Visit the National Liberty Museum.
  • Pick up lunch in the historic district - own expense.
  • Meet your guide. Begin a Walking Tour of Historic Philadelphia. Visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Pavilion, the Betsy Ross House, Franklin Court Print Shop, Benjamin Franklin's Gravesite and more as time permits. Bus to your hotel and check in. Your guide will leave you here.
  • Dinner in the City.
  • Enjoy the “Lights of Liberty” light show, an outdoor walking sound and light show.
    OR
    Enjoy a Dinner Dance Cruise on the Delaware River (extra expense).
  • Return to your hotel for the night.
  • Hotel security.

DAY IV

  • Breakfast at your hotel. Pack your bus and check out.
  • Visit the Independence Seaport Museum . Enjoy an educational program about colonial life in a large seaport followed by a visit to Commodore Dewey’s 1898 Flagship and a WWII submarine.
  • Pick up lunch at the Bourse Building - own expense.
  • Board your bus for return trip to your school. Dinner stop along the way - own expense.
